This little honeybunch was long-awaited and a whole week late in arriving! I remember when her folks’ friends’ baby arrived two weeks early in mid-June, they were all primed up and raring to go with their lil gal too, but she hung on inside for more than another month…yup, all through Vancouver’s crazed heat wave, all through her due date and seven more days after that–almost like she was gonna show them. Poor, poor mom-I’m sure her ankles were the size of watermelons by the time she gave birth. I can’t even imagine being heavily pregnant in 35 degree heat!
Little P is just a delicious French morsel. At 8 pounds and 6 days old, I just loved her plump. Such an adorable bit of business, I swear.
As always, please take a moment to leave us a comment here. If 20 of you comment on this posting, the parents will have their choice of one of these images as an 8″x10″ print (please, every comment from different computers and not my friends/colleagues). As well, each comment is worth $1 to Vancouver’s Food Bank for the monthly Jane Photo donation. That buys a hungry family $3 of groceries. It’s so easy to help out the Food Bank, so please consider telling us what you think.
Here are some wise words from Ms P’s ever-lovin’ parents:
This is your first baby. Tell us about your labour and delivery.
Yes, P is my first baby. My labour was a wonderful experience, very intense but good, no drugs only the laugting gas and I recommend for the mom-to-be-it’s very relaxing. My labour take about 7 hour. I was very lucky to have my husband who was a good support. Also I have a wonderful doula. Her name was maria. I followed the birth community program. They have midwives, doulas and doctors. It’s part of BC Women ‘s Hospital.
How soon did you go home from the hospital? Were you glad to have Ms P home?
I went home 6h after I have P. I was very emotional and very proud of my family! My friends drive us home with their baby. It’s wonderful. Every day baby grows up and changes and the more you love them!
What is your favourite thing about being a mom? That moment you just could not trade?
My favorite time with P is when she smile at me my heart melt! I can not trade that moment for sure.
Are you getting any sleep?
I do get some sleep when she sleeps. That’s the key!
How is Ms P’s daddy with her? Can you share one moment of them together which touched you?
P is a good with daddy, but daddy works works works. But he does give P her bath and she know!
You guys own a hair salon, Opus, across from the Opus Hotel. Are you planning to go back to work soon?
Unfortunately, I have to work prety soon. 3 days a weeks is not too bad.
What are your hopes and dreams for Ms P over the next year? Over the long term?
My dream for P over the next year is can she love us as much as we love her! For the long term I hope she can become a good person in the heart and that she knows how to choose her friends.
