Jane Photo is involved in a very personal project photographing adult women and their mothers together now called “Mirror.” Please see our Fresh Faces Model Search page for modeling details, as our usual modeling terms apply. This project, begun in 2008, is expected to end in 2012 with an exhibition of photographs at a Vancouver gallery.
The project was begun after Jane suddenly lost her mother and realized that she didn’t have any touching images of them together. Jane realized that families generally do not hire a custom photographer for these kinds of images. Additionally, women are often the family photographers–we may not be in family photos because we are taking them. We make sure to get images of our kids, and our families, and our extended families, but how many of us have that touching, entwined image that tells us, and history, of our unbreakable bond with our mothers?
